Visit Us

The James E. Brooks Library is located in the northwest corner of the Ellensburg campus. Built in 1973, the third library in the University’s history, the James E. Brooks Library, along with the branch libraries located in Des Moines and Lynnwood, supports students and faculty in their academic and research endeavors.

Parking

A permit is required for the parking lot adjacent to the library (lot P-8) year-round, Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Daily permits are available for purchase at the dispenser in the lot. The permit must be displayed with the printed information clearly visible on the driver side front windshield in order to be valid. Please refer to CWU's Parking Services for the most up-to-date information about parking on campus.

Family Study Space

Faculty, staff, and students with young children are invited to use the Family Study Space (FSS) located on the first floor in the Learning Commons. In addition to child-friendly furniture, the space offers a selection of circulating children’s books, learning manipulatives, and creative play space. Children must be supervised at all times. Please note: The FSS reopened Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

The Attic

Located on the fourth floor in the former Music Library space, The Attic boasts a variety of study, collaboration, and performance areas as well as music scores, composition pianos, computers, and more.
